He shot over 2000 half-frame negatives that he contact printed upon his return to Tokyo. A small selection of ten images from the series appeared in the Japanese photographic periodical \u003cem\u003eAsahi Camera\u003c\/em\u003e in 1972, and in 1974, he created his landmark photocopy book \u003cem\u003eAnother Country\u003c\/em\u003e in New York reproducing a mere 80 photographs. The contact sheets were then put into storage and only recently revisited. \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eTo coincide with the 2002 exhibition, Andrew Roth in association with PPP Editions has published \u003cem\u003e’71-NY\u003c\/em\u003e, a hefty, bilingual edition printing 210 reproductions in 428 pages. \u003cem\u003e’71-NY\u003c\/em\u003e features an excerpt from James Baldwin’s \u003cem\u003eAnother Country\u003c\/em\u003e (1963), an interview with Moriyama by Andrew Roth (2001), and an original 2,500-word essay by Neville Wakefield.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNear Fine copy in printed wrappers, in near fine die-cut jacket, with shows only faint rubbing.
