A Loud Song
A Loud Song
Daniel Seymour
First Edition, 1971.
Book measures 10 x 10 inches. Stapled wrappers. Seymour's only published book, and the the first title from Ralph Gibson's Lustrum Press. B&W photographs accompanied by Seymour's writing (handwriting) throughout the text. This book holds the feel of something close to a photo album 'scrapbook', and published in 1971, predates a genre which would later take hold and become commonplace. Seymour assisted Robert Frank in his film work, and also fronted the money to publish Larry Clark's first book Tulsa. A Loud Song is dedicated to Seymour's father, and chronicles his family life, personal travels, and his involvement in the counterculture scene. Along with photography, Seymour also made a number of 16mm films. Some of the photographs in this volume were taken alongside, most notably of Flamenco musicians in Spain related to his film Flamencologia.
Near Fine in clean bright wrappers showing only minimal signs of handling. A well preserved copy of this scare title.
