Designed by Hermann Zapf, and set in Linotype Optima and printed by Ludwig Oehms at Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Foreword by Paul Standard. A description by Zapf on the process, and chronology of his typeface designs. Includes specimens and drawings, along with a checklist to date of publication (1960) of his finished designs. A beautifully printed and designed book which includes a number of inserts tipped in. Published in an edition totaling 700 copies in America (400 for Typophile subscribers & 300 for general sale). SIGNED by Zapf on the colophon in the year 1979.
