Book measures 10.25 x 14.5 inches. Paper-covered photo-illustrated boards. No dust jacket as issued. Art director, Ikko Tanka. Editor, Dhoji Yamagishi. 102 color and black and white photographs by Ikko Narahara organized into eight sections: Fujisan, Katana Swords, Noh, Zen, Courtesans, Sumo, Awa Dance, Samurai Age. This work was done by Narahara after 2 years abroad in Europe and began his attempt to reappropriate his native land, which ended in 1969 with this "vortex of his deep affection for and irritation at" the Japanese culture (Yamazaki). A stunning group of photographs.

Top right corner shows bumping which mildly affects top corners of pages. Light wear to top spine of boards. Binding is solid, though demands care in handling (which seems to be a matter of the production of this book). Overall a Very Good copy of a hard to find book by Narahara.
