In 1979, Japanese photographer Keizo Kitajima staged a series of twelve monthly exhibitions at Tokyo's CAMP Gallery. To coincide with the exhibitions he produced twelve monthly magazines. Shashin Tokkyubin Tokyo (Photo-mail from Tokyo) gathers together these images into one volume, interspersed with color work not included in the original series of magazines. The work captures Kitajima's nocturnal wanderings through the underbelly of Tokyo and conveys the frenetic energy of the happenings he organized at the time.
