Steven Shore: A Road Trip Journal
Steven Shore: A Road Trip Journal
First Edition, 2008. 296 pages.
Book measures 11 x 14 inches. Black cloth in illustrated paper-covered hardcover slipcase. A limited edition facsimile numbered and signed by Shore in an edition of 3500 copies, this being no. 958. This book is a complete reproduction of the journal that Shore made on a month-long American road trip in 1973, during which he began work on his influential project Uncommon Places. In the journal Shore included his own photographs, lists detailing information on his travels like where he stayed, what he ate, how many miles he drove, and various ephemera like receipts and postcards. Each page of the journal is reproduced along with a plate section featuring every photograph he took on his journey to provide the complete story of the journey at this seminal moment in his career. The book also includes a set of postcards, reproductions of cards that Shore himself made and distributed on his journey.
Slipcase shows slight bump to the spine edge (not the edge where the book fits in). This must have occurred at some point in shipping because the book was still sealed in shrink wrap. The shrink has been opened along the edge to pull out the book, and there is no bumping to the actual book. Shrink still remains around the slipcase. Book is in Fine / As New Condition.
This is a heavy oversize volume. Shipping cost reflects the actual shipping cost packed properly in a large box.
